Flow to Freedom: Unlocking Emotions through movement

Some moments don’t just stay in our memory—they settle deep in our hearts. Flow to Freedom, our movement therapy workshop held at Iswar Sankalpa, was one such experience. Curated with care and led by the gentle yet powerful presence of Angira Chakraborty Dasgupta, the session unfolded like poetry in motion—honest, healing, and full of heart.

Participants—young and old—came together in a safe, open space to explore what it means to move with emotion. Through dance, breath, and intuitive movement, they shed layers of stress and inhibition. What emerged was a shared rhythm of trust, release, and joyful self-expression. It wasn’t about technique or steps—it was about letting go, and in doing so, discovering the freedom to simply be.

A truly touching part of the workshop was the wholehearted participation of the inmates of Sarbari at Iswar Sankalpa. Their presence added a depth that words can barely contain. As they moved—sometimes shyly, sometimes with bursts of laughter—they reminded all of us of the pure, unfiltered joy that comes from being seen, heard, and included. There were no labels, no walls—just people, hearts wide open, dancing in the same light.

The air was filled with music, but more than that, it was filled with connection. With every sway, every stomp, and every stretch, something softened. Something healed. By the end of the session, there were no spectators—only participants. Eyes sparkled, faces glowed, and spirits soared.

Everyone left a little lighter. A little calmer. A little more in tune with themselves—and with each other.

We at Kawtha Koi are deeply honoured to have held space for such magic. Flow to Freedom was not just a workshop; it was a reminder that healing can begin with a single breath, a single step—and when we move together, we move closer to something truly beautiful.
